Internet sleuths managed to find a photo of Maine on Instagram that they believe confirmed the rumors. In the said photo, the 22-year-old celebrity can be seen sporting a watch which is similar to the watch worn by the mysterious girl in Jake’s post.

Because of this, people are speculating that Maine is the girl in Jake’s controversial IG story. People online put the puzzle pieces together and claimed a blossoming romance between the two Kapuso celebrities. Some find this explanation plausible because Maine Mendoza and Jake Ejercito have worked alongside one another on the noontime show “Eat Bulaga”.
