It is believed that the trees were created by an ancient Buddhist god - but many people aren't convinced

The people in Thailand were in disbelief after they realized that there’s a tree that bears fruit that is shaped like women. Yes, you’ve read that right, the fruit that the tree bears has the same shape as a woman’s figure.

While a lot of people were amazed by the fruit that’s green in color, there are still some who were baffled and are less convinced by the viral footage that showed the unusual shape of the fruit.

A strange tree growing in Thailand appears to bear fruit in the exact shape of a young woman - and it's baffling the internet.

But while many are amazed by the shape of the green fruits , others are less convinced by the confusing footage.

In Buddhist mythology , a tree known as the Nariphon bears the fruit of young female creatures and is said to grow in the mythical forest called Himaphan.

The story revolves around the Buddhist God who thought that his wife Vessantara and their two children are safe in the forest. But then, one day, Vessantra went out to collect food but ends up getting attacked by horrifying male creatures.

It was then when Indra decided to create 12 special Nariphon trees that would bear fruit that is in the same shape as female creatures. Not just that, the fruit that the tree bears were also as the same image as his wife’s. By doing so, Indra believes that the fruits would distract the possible attackers.

Indra hopes that the fruit the tree bears would be the one that the attackers would pick and not his wife and children.

His plan worked. The men took the fruit back to their homes and after making love with them, they would sleep for months.

According to Thai folklore, after Indra and his wife died, the trees continued to bear fruit. There are rumoured to be two Nariphon pods in a Buddhist temple near Bangkok. Gifts inspired by the Nariphon girls are now sold widely throughout Thailand, leading to many hoaxes.
