Maine Mendoza has been absent from the longest-running noontime variety show titled “Eat Bulaga!” for quite some time now. Ever since she released her open letter about her personal life, she became a no-show on the program. Netizens even came up with the idea that she’s probably suspended or transferring to rival network, ABS-CBN. Fortunately, that rumor about her transferring was dismissed by another co-host, Vic Sotto.

The “Meant To Beh” actor was asked if the 20-year-old actress was on leave, he answered with:

“Ang alam ko, nakabakasyon siya. I’m not really in the know, I’m not privy to anything na personal niyang desisyon. Kasi, para sa akin, kung ano man yun… respetuhin na lang natin kung ano man yung mga issues niya, kung ano man yung mga pinagdadaanan niya. Siya lang nakakaalam dun. I’m not privy to anything personal pagdating sa kanya.”

And then he was asked whether he knows if Maine Mendoza is suspended by the show or not. He said:

“Definitely not. Ba’t naman isususpende siya ng TAPE, ‘no, ng Eat Bulaga? Lalo na kay Mr. Tuviera, respetado niya ‘yang opinyon, pag-iisip, at kung anuman ang pinagdadaanan ng bawat kasama namin sa Dabarkads.”

In a report by PhilStar, Mr. Antonio P. Tuviera, President & CEO of TAPE Inc., finally cleared the issue regarding Maine’s absence.

“No, Maine is not suspended,” he said. The Dubsmash Queen hasn’t appeared on “Eat Bulaga!” since December 1.

“Humingi lamang siya ng bakasyon sa akin and since malapit na rin ang Christmas break ng show, pinayagan ko na siya.”

Vic Sotto assured the AlDub fans that they just have to keep holding on and support Maine and Alden Richards.
