Maine Mendoza’s accidental fame is indeed admirable. Who would have thought that her mere Dubsmash entries could lead her to success in show business? And most importantly, who would have believed that she sweep Alden Richards, the well-loved Kapuso actor, off his feet?



Together, they formed the phenomenal love team ‘AlDub’ which earned them multiple endorsements. They topped the charts when they became a part of the Eat Bulaga segment Kalyeserye. But before Alden, there were a couple of guys who captured Maine’s heart. Both became a part of the Kapuso actress’ life before her stint in the show business industry.

1. Miguel Villapando. According to Maine’s ask.fm account, Miguel, or Miggy, was her first love and first boyfriend. Only the two of them know the reason why they separated, though they remained good friends and even spent their internship at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, New York together.

2. Leo Paragas. Leo was the second one to catch the actress’ attention. Even though their romance did not blossom, the two remained friends as well.



3. Alden Richards. Of course, let’s not forget about the one and only ‘Pambansang Bae’. Maine and Alden’s tandem was also accidental. She was already a cast of Kalyeserye, playing as ‘Yaya Dub’ when the other cast members started teasing her and the actor. The two immediately amassed attention and ‘AlDub’ was created.



Maine and Alden joined the cast of My Bebe Love, one of the Metro Manila Film Fest (MMFF) entry in 2015, where the former earned her Best Supporting Actress award. In 2016, they starred in the romantic comedy film “Imagine You & Me” wherein Maine wrote and sang the theme song of the film.
