While most of us have nothing but fond and nostalgic memories of our grandparents, this woman’s experience with her grandfather seems to have come straight out of a nightmare. For so long, this unidentified Japanese woman has endured years of suffering at the hands of her own grandfather.

Based on what we have gathered from a report in Daily Mail, the Japanese woman from Kyoto, Japan has been abused by her vile and cruel grandfather for many years before being rescued. Aside from physically beating her, her cruel grandfather also denies her food to the point of fatal starvation.

Whenever she tries to sneak food out of extreme hunger, her grandfather will beat her and repeatedly kick her in the belly to regurgitate the food.

Years after the domestic abuse took place, the Japanese woman decided to share what happened to her on social media. She posted disturbing photos on Twitter showing her horrific condition when she was still in the hands of her abuser. In the photos, she looked extremely emaciated and sick.

During those dark days, the woman was almost skin and bones due to extreme starvation. Her joints and bones were almost sticking out of her skin. According to her Twitter post, she only weighs 16.8 kilograms or 37 lbs.

She was eventually rescued, and the medical professionals who examined her claimed that she was only minutes away from death.

Nowadays, the Japanese woman is already in her 20s and her body has finally recovered from the horrific abuse. She shared her photos not just to recall her traumatic experience, but also to raise awareness for other abuse victims.
