ROBIN PADILLA NAGSALITA AT IBINUNYAG ANG HIRAP NA DINARANAS NIYA SA ABS-CBN!

These days, it seems like Robin Padilla is all over the place – on our screens, and on the billboards. In fact, it’s a good thing to be given exposure as an actor. Aside from being a judge on the reality-based talent show “Pilipinas Got Talent,” local cinema’s iconic ‘bad boy’ has his hands full with shooting a teleserye, “Sana Dalawa ang Puso.” But according to Robin, the stress of yo-yoing weight related to shooting different roles made him quip, “Hirap na hirap ako sa buhay ko sa ABS-CBN! Oo, totoo!”

Speaking during the press conference for the new romantic-comedy series, Robin bared the reason behind his statement.

“Noong nagsu-shoot kami ng Bad Boy 3 ang laki ko noon. Sabi nila magte-taping na kami nitong Sana Dalawa Ang Puso so nagpapayat ako, kasi sabi nila maliit si Jodi, kaya kailangan kong magpapayat, so, nagpapayat ako.

Makakadalawang linggong taping na kami, bigla sinabi sa ‘kin na kailangan ko daw mag-gain ng weight kasi magsu-shooting daw kami ni Ma’am Sharon Cuneta ng Unexpectedly Yours. Pinaglalaruan nila ang katawan ko! Taba-payat-taba-payat, e, hindi naman na ako bata!”

According to the actor, he initially had reservations on shooting for a TV series because of the daily taping sched, pointing out that he’s no longer as young as he used to be.

“Hindi naman sa ayaw, kasi, alam naman ni Ma’am Malou na kung mag-aaction na ‘ko sa pelikula, hindi ko na kaya yung style ng teleserye, lalo na yung halos araw na araw na taping. Sa totoo lang mahirap na talaga yung teleserye kasi pambata lang yun, e.”

Robin also shared how the idea to pair him up with co-star Jodi Sta. Maria came about. They both had a show in London when Jodi approached him and expressed her desire to work with him on a future project. After they parted ways, Robin didn’t give it much thought until he started shooting for “Bad Boy 3.”

“Matagal kong pinag-isipan yun, kasi nasa Pangasinan nga kami kasi nga nagsu-shoot kami ng Bad Boy 3, sabi ko kapag lumuwas akong Manila ay malamang na hindi na matutuloy ang project ko na ito [Bad Boy 3]. Wala akong nagawa kasi nahiya din ako kay Ma’am Malou [Santos] at nahiya din ako kay Jodi. Isinantabi muna namin ang pagsu-shoot ng Bad Boy 3 at inuna ko itong teleserye kasama si Jodi.”
