Almost a dozen teens fell ill after eating gummy bears laced with the active ingredient in cannabis. The THC content in the sweets was so strong that the teenagers reported having hallucinations, rapid heart rate, blurred vision and leg pain. They are believed to have each had only half a gummy bear each. But it was already too much. Police said a man, 19, was first to call the emergency services saying he felt unwell on Thursday night. He said he ate the gummy bear while on a camping trip but he now couldn’t find his friends.



Officers then found another ten men and women, all 18 and 19, suffering the effects in a house on County Road 325 in Northwest Indiana. They are now believed to have recovered. ‘The strength is so strong that it caused an adverse reaction in 11 people – not one person, not three – it wasn’t just a small batch or a bad batch,’ Capt. Kellems told ABC.



‘You know when you put a can of Coke in front of me and I know I’m going to drink 16 ounces of Coca Cola, you know what’s in it. When you take something that is made and manufactured in a state that unfortunately allows this type of thing, you don’t know what you’re getting.’ It sparked fears the sweets, which look like ordinary gummy bears, could end up in the hands of children and do even greater damage as they would have a lower tolerance. Police believe the bears were bought in a state where weed is legal and brought to Indiana. They are investigating
