There’s always something about Maine Mendoza that captures the public’s attention. After all, she’s not call the “phenomenal star” for nothing. When she joined the Bench Fashion Show this year, lots of netizens were unsurprisingly amazed.

She showed up in a pin-up inspired outfit complete with retro curls and an equally arresting lipstick. Maine also executed a noteworthy performance where she wowed the audience with her endearing entrance.

However, netizens were shookt so to speak when they saw another actor grabbed her hand during the event. It was none other than Kapamilya hunk Richard Gutierrez. Richard used to be a Kapuso so perhaps, he was friends with Maine before.

But that doesn’t erase the fact that people were amazed by what he did. He grabbed her hand and for a while, Maine Mendoza was a bit shocked. You could see it on her face, where her mouth did a little “o” to expressed her surprised.

The moment was caught on video and shared by the YouTube user “The PINOY Channel,” where it has currently gained 25,203 views, 219 likes, and around 70 comments as of writing. Most of the netizens commented that the gesture was “sweet” and that Richard was a “gentleman” for him to do that.

Others claimed that Richard is not for Maine, based on the gesture alone. Perhaps they were talking about the possibility that the actor might be paired with GMA Network’s darling? That would be a moot point, however, since Richard is already in Channel 2.

Either way, the mere fact that Maine Mendoza briefly expressed a surprised look claimed that it was definite the actor’s gesture really shocked her.

It’s also an indication that Richard is not one to harbor ill feelings towards the actors and actresses of GMA Network, the channel he used to belong to. Even after he moved on to ABS-CBN, he is still cordial with Kapuso talents.
