Vhong Navarro is known for his optimistic personality, funny antics and impeccable TV hosting skills. However, it was a bittersweet time for the Kapamilya star over the course of the holiday season. It was during this time Vhong shared a picture that featured his ailing father in a hospital bed.

According to a previous report, the “It’s Showtime” host posted it on Dec. 25, 2017. He simply captioned it with the obligatory Christmas greeting but it was clear that his father was having a difficult time.

However, all of his family members seemed happy at that time. They also wore face masks, which is an indication of the seriousness of the patriarch’s medical condition.

New Year’s Day saw Vhong sharing an alarming picture of his father’s wrinkled hand with a tube attached to it. He emotionally captioned it with a message dedicated to his dad, Danilo Navarro.The host urged his father to “stay strong” despite the seriousness of the latter’s condition. He also accompanied a praying emoji towards the last part.

Now, ABS-CBN Entertainment shared a video that featured the hosts of “It’s Showtime” expressing their sympathies and condolences to the patriarch’s passing.

Amy Perez asked for a moment of silence to honor Danilo as he passed away.

She said, “Ipinapaabot po ng buong Showtime family ang aming pong tapos pusong pakikiramay sa pamilya Navarro.”

Amy stated that all of Vhong’s friends in “It’s Showtime” would individually offer their prayers to the repose of Danilo’s soul. In addition, Amy also urged Vhong Navarro to be strong in this trying time.

On August 2017, Vhong appeared in the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” and opened up about his father’s medical condition. He became emotional and said that he wished for his father’s immediate recovery.It seemed as if the patriarch has been suffering from his condition even before the holidays.

Vhong pointed out that his father was usually the shy type. However, the team of the show shared a video message that was made by his father dedicated to his son.This prompted the “It’s Showtime” host to turn emotional on the episode.
