In a scene seemingly straight out of a horror movie, a teen who was believed to have been buried alive woke up inside her tomb. She was reportedly heard screaming for help as her family members tried to get her out.

Mournful family members desperately tried to smash the concrete enclosure open to extract the teenager’s casket in an attempt to save her. As soon as they got her casket out, they found the viewing window of her coffin smashed, and the tips of the teenager’s hands covered in bruises.

Perez’s parents called on the local priest to perform an exorcism, but she supposedly ‘died’ three hours later. After being rushed to a hospital, doctors confirmed her ‘death’.

The day after her funeral, her husband visited her grave. To his horror, he heard his wife screaming and banging from inside her tomb, which prompted him to ask for help to smash the concrete.

The attending physician explained:

“The whole family rushed in, almost breaking the door down, carrying the girl in her casket. I told them to take her out and put her on the bed. Everybody was claiming she was alive so I went through all the necessary procedures. We evaluated and tried everything but the girl was dead. They put her back in the coffin and took her away again, back to the cemetery.”

In an attempt to explain the inexplicable, doctors claimed that Perez might have suffered a panic attack, causing her heart to stop beating momentarily. Declared dead, she was buried, only to come back to life shortly after. It was then alleged that the real cause of her death was the lack of oxygen while she was buried alive.

Perez’s parents believe that it was the doctors’ fault that their daughter died, since they initially declared her clinically dead when she really wasn’t.
