On January 9, Tuesday, a 17 year-old boy named ‘Karlo’ was arrested for sexually assualting his sister and trying to r*pe his own mother. The incident happened in their home at Brgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, last January 8. According to a report by ABS-CBN News, the teenager was discovered high on the illegal drug shabu (crystal meth) at the time.

It was only last Monday when Clara found out that her son assaulted her 10 year-old daughter. Apparently, Karlo threatened his sister – which is why the youngster had kept her silence until they arrived at the barangay hall. Karlo’s mother was more than willing to have her son arrested after everything that he did to them.

“Okay lang po na mahuli siya. Baboy naman po ang tingin niya sa amin. Binababoy niya po kami,” she said in the news report.

She also recalled how he threatened her with a knife when he tried to sexually assault her.

According to Clara, last Monday was not the first time that Karlo tried to r*pe her. He attempted to do the same to her some time last year. She said she was asleep when she woke up to him removing her shorts. Clara initially thought he only wanted money and tried to stop him, but was shocked to discover that he held a knife to her throat.

“Ibinuka po niya shorts ko. Sabi ko, anong ginagawa mo? Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Ma, isa lang.’ Akala ko nga pera ang hinihingi niya,” Clara narrated.

For his part, Karlo apologized profusely after getting arrested. He admitted that he was high on the illegal drug when he r*ped his sister and tried to do the same to his mother.

In the same interview by ABS-CBN News, Karlo explained: “Nakapag-shabu po ako. Nasobrahan lang po siguro. Pasensya na po. Nahihiya po ako. Nagsisisi po ako. Nakainom lang po ako kaya nagdilim paningin ko.“

As Karlo is still a minor, he was temporarily placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and development.
